Bio Ethanol range extender
This is a concept for a range extention solution for Electric Vehicles involving a rental service for external range extenders running on Bio Ethanol. These tenders have small engines which help to charge the battery whilst driving, acting as an auxiliary power unit, thereby extending the vehicle's range.
These range extenders could be fueled with E100 bio-ethanol from local Dutch sugar beets which helps contribute to the Bio-based Economy. Another possible Bio-based fuel could be PPO/SVO (vegetable oil). These tenders could be rented out at existing service stations, perhaps in addition to offering of mini trailers which have been a popular rental service already for decades. These tenders could also serve as a platform for advertisements.
